The story all start when I was in middle school.
I was practicing video game development in GameMaker™ in my tech class. I wanted to make games for a living, but I didn’t think it was a realistic goal because I grew up in a tiny country town.

I started my professional career as a computer infrastructure engineer. I spent several years moving through different more specialized support.

My friend pointed out that the games we like are very niche, and are almost exclusively made by very small indie developers. We had some very specific ideas that no one had made in 10+ years, and it was making us very frustrated.

I launched Unity for the first time since 2012, and things had changed beyond my belief. I was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to start learning again.

On June 1st, 2024, I did all the paperwork and filed for an official LLC for Toast Ghost LLC. I was almost done with my first game after a week, but my poor first-generation Framework 13 had reached its physical limits. I could no longer open Unity and VScode at the same time.

I already finished my first game that I made for my own educational purposes. I created it to go through the motions of creating a game, and posting it. I had absolutely no expectations of making any money off it.

On July 5th 2024, I officially published my first Closed Beta on the Google Play store. This is required just to be able to post a game, so I’m glad I was learning this with my practice game.

On July 26th 2024 at 2:55pm CST my fist app was officially publicly posted to Google Play!
